Minions – Themed Shotgun With a Lot Of Money And Drugs Discovered During Traffic Stop

Wrapped in tape decorated with characters from the movie ‘Minions,’ the 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun found by St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies was no joke.

During a traffic stop on Tanner Boulevard in Covington, deputies made the “disturbing” discovery, also uncovering heroin, methamphetamine, cash and drug paraphernalia. Deputies said they believe the tape was applied in an attempt to disguise the shotgun as a toy.

Monroe Meyers, 38, and his girlfriend Winter Flowers, 33, were both arrested. The pair had been staying at a Covington motel and both had outstanding warrants from Tangipahoa Parish. The warrants stemmed from a 2015 incident in which Flowers was accused of shooting Meyers with an AR-15 rifle, deputies said.

“This entire situation is very troubling. This is obviously a dangerous couple who belong in jail,” said St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith in the release.

Meyers is charged with:

  • Fugitive out of Tangipahoa Parish
  • Possession of a firearm by convicted felon
  • Possession with the intent to distribute Heroin
  • Possession of over 28 grams of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Drug Proceeds
  • Possession of a Legend Drug
  • Missing Taillight

Flowers is charged with:

  • Fugitive out of Tangipahoa Parish
  • Possession with the intent to distribute Heroin
  • Possession of over 28 grams of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Legend Drug
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of firearm in the presence of a CDS

The incident remains under investigation.
